The Treasury does a u-turn on SIPPs and residential property

In December Gordon Brown announced that self invested personal pensions or SIPPs would not be given immediate tax relief for pension investments in residential property. This about face on SIPPs by the Chancellor has caused outrage amongst the financial community and has left investors uncertain over future retirement plans that had been based on placing residential property, including oversees property, into their personal pensions plan.

Water Intrusion - Not Just a Caulking Issue

I recently did an inspection where water intrusion & moisture was an issue. The sellers had done limited exterior maintenance in the 20 years they had been there so consequently there we a few areas of concern. Additionally, of the things they did do, some were done wrong. Here’s some general suggestions:

Panama’s Real Estate Boom

Trump has fallen so much in love with Panama that he is building a $220 Million, 65 story (2.4 Million square foot) hotel/condo monoliths called the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower in a posh Panama City neighborhood. Groundbreaking is scheduled around this Christmas with a completion date in 2009.
